2017 AGMs

Postby richard mcintosh » Fri Jun 23, 2017 12:21 pm

It was the East of Scotland's AGM last night.

This year's new chair thanked last year's old chair.

The chair also thanked Adrian, who is standing down from his Secretary duties after many years. We welcomed Gareth as the new Secretary.

Good turnout from Scottish Squash with plenty of positive messages.

Nothing controversial, but looking at the committee we are now a bit ESC-heavy and CCSC-light which is the complete opposite of a few years ago.

The Watsonian Squash Rackets Club's 2017 AGM was held last Thursday night (14th September 2017). Nothing massively controversial. Lots of good ideas.

And hot on the heels of our own AGM, Scottish Squash are holding the big AGM.

I found out about the SS AGM by chance, after a friend offered me the chance to attend as they couldn't make it. I must have missed my own personal invitation in amongst all of my many social events. This year's AGM is at the Oriam at Heriot Watt on Sunday 24th September 2017. There is also a General Meeting taking place just before the AGM. Everyone likes a good bit of paperwork and admin on a Sunday afternoon.

I was among the elite group who cycled to the SS AGM.

From a Watsonian Squash Rackets Club point of view, it is apparent just how far we have to go before we achieve a more inclusive membership, and then maintain that.
